Thought I would start this post out a bit differently. Lets talk about running! Yesterday was the first day in a week that I was finally home early enough to go for a run. Lets just say the heat was less than idea; 85 but the feel like was around 109 degrees. This guy was sweaty.
Anyways lets talk about lab now! Got into work this morning and sat through some interesting presentations about some essential oils and plant derivatives to help prevent against microbial resistance to antibiotics. After that was over I went into the lab and I was pleased to see some of my little ones (the prawns) ate all the little snails in their tanks! The males seemed to eat most, if not all, snails, while the one female prawn barely at any snails. I will bring this up as a form of discussion when presenting because this is an interesting observation. As I currently sit in the office writing this, some snails are having a mojito under the "sun" (a fake light) for a few hours which is when I will take them an observe for some worms under the inverted microscope. Hopefully we can get some snails secreting cercaria since we lost most infected snails due to consumption last night. Hopefully I'll be able to get out of here before 4 once again so I can run!
BTW currently there is a real feel of, once again, 109 degrees.
